Metallic coatings - Electrodeposited chromium coatings with chromium(III)-based electrolytes on copper-nickel coatings on plastics - Requirements and test methods
Metallische Überzüge - Galvanische Chromüberzüge aus Chrom(III)-basierten Elektrolyten auf Kupfer-Nickel-Überzügen auf Kunststoffen - Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren
Overview
This document specifies requirements for corrosion-resistant decorative-functional chromium coatings electrodeposited from chromium(III)-based electrolytes on nickel and copper-nickel coatings on plastics, as well as the corresponding test methods. For electroplated nickel-chromium and copper-nickel-chromium coatings on plastics in which the chromium coatings are deposited from chromium(VI)-based electrolytes, see DIN 53100. For electroplated nickel-chromium and copper-nickel-chromium coatings on metals in which the chromium coatings are deposited from chromium(VI)-based electrolytes, see DIN EN ISO 1456. When depositing chromium coatings from chromium(III)-based electrolytes on metals, the information in this document applies by analogy. This document does not apply to electroplated coatings which are deposited on plastics for engineering purposes. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-01-76 AA "Chemische und elektrochemische Überzüge" ("Chemical and electrochemical coatings") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
