Overview

This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-01-05 AA "Bohrwerkzeuge für Holz, Stein und Beton" ("Drilling tools for wood, stone, and concrete") at DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices (FWS). The standard differs from DIN 7483:1966-11 as follows: a) values for forms A and E changed; b) value range of forms A and E extended to d₁ = 10 mm to d₁ = 100 mm; c) forms C and F removed; d) form H "Forstner bit with circumferential sheath for electric hand and drill press with hexagonal shank according to DIN ISO 1173-E6.3" added; e) Form K "Artificial drill with two cutting edges" added; f) variant "hexagonal shank", variant with three-sided shank and variant with carbide inserts newly included; g) figures adapted; h) normative references updated; i) standard editorially revised.
