Photovoltaic devices - Part 2: Requirements for photovoltaic reference devices (IEC 60904-2:2023); German version EN IEC 60904-2:2023

Title (German)

Photovoltaische Einrichtungen - Teil 2: Anforderungen an Referenz-Solarelemente (IEC 60904-2:2023); Deutsche Fassung EN IEC 60904-2:2023

Overview

This document applies to photovoltaic (PV) reference devices that are used to measure the irradiance of natural or simulated sunlight for the purpose of quantifying the electrical performance of photovoltaic devices (cells, modules and arrays). It does not cover photovoltaic reference devices for use under concentrated sunlight. It gives requirements for the classification, selection, packaging, marking, calibration and care of photovoltaic reference devices. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN 60904-2 (VDE 0126-4-2):2015-11 as follows: a) Clauses 12 and Clauses 13 have been expanded by adding calibration procedures for calibrating photovoltaic devices at maximum power; b the requirements for the mandatory measurement of spectral sensitivity, temperature coefficients, and linearity have been revised depending on the application, and some measurements on equivalent devices are permitted; c) the requirements for built-in shunt resistors have been revised; d) requirements for the traceability of calibration have been explicitly added.
