Overview

This document contains requirements for the conditions to be observed for explosion-proved rescue lights if they are used as a part of the personal equipment for rescue teams, given to or permitted to be carried along by rescue teams in particular rescue situations. EC Directive 94/9/EC and DIN EN 60079-0 (VDE 0170/0171-1) are decisive for design, testing and placing on the market. This document applies to explosion-proved lights used in areas of category 2G and 2D. These explosion-proved lights shall not be used in areas classified as 1G and 1D. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 031-06-02 AA "Leuchten und Warneinrichtungen" “Lights and warning devices” at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
