Overview

This DIN SPEC has been prepared by a DIN SPEC consortium (temporary committee) in the course of the PAS procedure. The preparation and adoption of this DIN SPEC has been carried out by the authors named in the foreword. This DIN SPEC specifies requirements for protocols for the uniform digital reporting of food surpluses along the entire value chain as a prerequisite for an AI-driven distribution platform. This document is intended for all parties involved in the food supply chain in the B2B segment. In particular, it is aimed at local agricultural businesses, international importers, producers, and retailers. By applying this DIN SPEC, surpluses are digitally reported so that they can be passed on to relevant recipients and thus saved from disposal. These include, in particular: fresh food (fruit and vegetables), dairy products, dry food, beverages, frozen products, meat, and fish.
