Overview
The IEC 62386 series specifies a bus system for control by digital signals of electronic lighting equipment. This part of the document allows a system with wireless or alternative wired communication between its units, instead of a wired bus system, where the meaning of "wireless or alternative wired communication", or in short “telecommunication”, is any type of communication network different from the wired system described in IEC 62386- 101. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 62386-104 (VDE 0712-0-104):2020-11 as follows: a) Clause 2, two new normative references have been added: - Bluetooth® Specification - Mesh Protocol, available at https://www.bluetooth.com/; - Bluetooth® Document - Assigned Numbers, available at https://www.bluetooth.com/; b) Annex B, additions B.2.3 (Transactions and Telegrammes) and B.2.7 ("Composition Data" in Bluetooth® Mesh). Typical application examples are electronic lighting devices that are controlled by digital signals via radio or IP-based networks. These can be, for example, control devices, luminaires or sensors.
