Radio frequency and coaxial cable assemblies - Part 3-1: Blank detail specification for semi-flexible coaxial cable assemblies (IEC 60966-3-1:2023); German version EN IEC 60966-3-1:2023
Konfektionierte Koaxial- und Hochfrequenzkabel - Teil 3-1: Vordruck für Bauartspezifikation für halbflexible konfektionierte Koaxialkabel (IEC 60966-3-1:2023); Deutsche Fassung EN IEC 60966-3-1:2023
Overview
IEC 60966-3-1:2023 is a blank detail specification that relates to semi-flexible coaxial cable assemblies operating in the transverse electromagnetic mode (TEM). The creation of a uniform layout and style of detail specifications is determined by the use of a blank detail specification pro forma. The detail specification can be prepared by the insertion of data into the pro forma by a national organization, a manufacturer, or a user (If prepared by a user, the type specification shall be submitted by an approved manufacturer to the national authorized institution). The detail specification specifies electrical, mechanical, and environmental test values, rated values, or characteristics. For this purpose, reference is made to the relevant IEC standard and the values for the corresponding parameter are specified. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of the document. The standard differs from DIN EN 60966-3-1:2009-11 as follows: a) "1 Scope" has been added; b) "2 Normative references" has been added; c) "4 Instructions" has been reworded; d) " [6] External dimensions for semi-flexible assembled coaxial cables", "[7] Relative position dimensions of the interface", "[8] Maximum diameter of a semi-flexible cable" have been added; e) corona breakdown voltage has been added; f) "[19] Value", "[20] Remarks" have been changed. The standard increases investment security for manufacturers and users through its application and provides test laboratories and manufacturers with defined specifications for testing, ensuring compatibility across manufacturers.
