Overview

The scope of this document covers the development of software for programmable electronic systems for use in train control, train protection, and signaling applications, as well as on railway vehicles. The document applies exclusively to software and the interaction between software and the system to which the software belongs. The document is not applicable to power supply for electric train traction (stationary installations) or to power supply and control of conventional applications, such as power supplies at stations for offices, shops, etcetera. Examples of applications include the programming of applications, operating systems, supporting tools, and firmware.
