Overview
This document (EN 16035:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 33 "Doors, windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walling", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 005-09-01 AA "Türen, Tore, Fenster, Abschlüsse, Baubeschläge und Vorhangfassaden (SpA zu CEN/TC 33 und ISO/TC 162)" ("Doors, windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walling (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 33 and ISO/TC 162)") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NaBau). This document summarizes relevant results and classifications from tests of the fire and smoke resistance performance of building hardware in the format of a hardware performance sheet (HPS). This document provides guidance and requirements on the minimum data required as a basis for the preparation of EXAP reports for the interchangeability of building hardware on fire-retardant and/or smoke-tight doors and openable windows. This document identifies the performance characteristics and the requirements for building hardware which can be found in the appropriate product standards.
