Overview

This series of standards of DIN 85005 lays down shape and meaning of graphical symbols in the technical documentation, for scheme-drawings and plans such as general sketches and similar abstract descriptions for seagoing vessels, inland vessels, vessels of the German Navy (Deutsche Marine), national authorities as well as for offshore-units. Graphical symbols/symbol elements see to this standard were only applied for combinations with other graphical symbols as given in this series of standards DIN 85005. The graphical symbols are in accordance with the rules of DIN EN ISO 81714-1. As far as practicable the depiction of lines shall be in accordance with DIN ISO 128-24. The new edition of this generic standard is primarily aimed at shipyards and suppliers to shipyards. Working Committee NA 132-05-02 AA "Graphische Symbole" ("Graphical symbols") at DIN is responsible for this standard.
