Title (German)

Procedure

PAS

Overview

This DIN SPEC has been prepared by a workshop (temporary committee) in the course of the PAS procedure. Preparation and adoption of this DIN SPEC has been carried out by the authors specified in the foreword. This DIN SPEC contains instructions and recommendations for designing the user interface of contactless gesture control in human-system interaction. Components of this document are central terms, presentation of the process of contactless gesture control and the description, identification and illustration of human gestures. Moreover, basic rules for the design of usable gestures are defined. Furthermore, examples of contactless gestures are presented. The DIN SPEC is neither a comprehensive catalogue of gestures nor a comprehensive list of applications, since these have to be created industry or application specific. This DIN SPEC is aimed at developers, product manufacturers, buyers, testers and end users of systems with gesture control. This DIN SPEC should be used together with E DIN EN ISO 9241-960 and ISO/IEC 30113-1 and deals exclusively with the contactless gesture control specific aspects of the user interface in human-system interaction.
