Overview

This document is the German translation of the European Technical Report CEN/TR 16862:2015 prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 "Plastics" (secretariat: NBN, Belgium). At the national standardization level CEN/TR 16862:2015 will be published as DIN 35226. Working Committee NA 092-00-32 AA "Fügen von Kunststoffen" ("Joining of plastics") at DIN Standards Committee Welding and allied processes (NAS) is responsible for the German contribution. This Technical Report specifies the quality-related responsibilities and tasks involved in the supervision of activities related to the welding of products and semi-finished products made of thermoplastic materials while providing specifications to ensure the quality of supervision. The basic aspects of this document are the following: - Definition of tasks and responsibilities; - Definition of required knowledge, skills and competences. The Plastics Welding Supervisor (PWS) should be hired by the organization involved in the welding operations. This Technical Report applies to all thermoplastic welding processes.
