Overview

This International Standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 106/SC 4/WG 8 "Dental hand instruments" (secretariat: ANSI, USA), in collaboration with CEN/TC 55 "Dentistry" (secretariat: DIN). At DIN Standards Committee Dentistry (NADENT) the responsible Working Committee is NA 014-00-23 AA "Dentalmedizinische Instrumente" ("Dental medical instruments"). The standard specifies requirements and test methods for the materials used, the maximum permissible overall length, Rockwell hardness, surface condition, resistance to reprocessing, corrosion resistance, force for opening and closing the end. The required information for marking (for example, batch designation) is also specified.
