DIN EN 205
Adhesives - Wood adhesives for non-structural applications - Determination of tensile shear strength of lap joints; German version EN 205:2016

Title (German)

Klebstoffe - Holzklebstoffe für nichttragende Anwendungen - Bestimmung der Klebfestigkeit von Längsklebungen im Zugversuch; Deutsche Fassung EN 205:2016

Overview

This European Standard specifies tests for adhesives for wood and derived timber products for the assessment of their resistance to hot and cold water. It can be used for the assessment of the strength of bonds with a thin bond-line. It does not apply to adhesives for structural use or to the manufacture of particleboards, fibreboards and plywood. It does not replace tests on finished products. In comparison to DIN EN 205:2003-06 the assessment of the strength based on thick bond lines has been deleted, and processing conditions for adhesive applications have been specified for cases where no instructions are available from the manufacturer. The number of test specimens has been changed and the test results from all test specimens shall be stated in the test report. The DIN committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-04-05 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Holzklebung" ("Mirror committee for CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Wood adhesives").
