Overview
In order to connect pipelines flexibly and permanently for use, elastic so-called rubber expansion joints are predominantly used. This standard applies to cylindrical expansion joints made of elastomers according to VG 95964-1, VG 95964-3 and VG 95964-5. Due to the introduction of the AIT element (automatic identification technology) as a necessary and required marking requirement, as well as the revision of electrical resistances, a new edition was required. This standard does not apply to bellows expansion joints according to VG 95958. These compensators or the VG standard does not apply to or in aircraft. Annex A (normative) contains samples for test certificates (type test for the inside skin, outside skin and hose). This standard has been prepared by the DIN Shipbuilding and Marine Technology Standards Committee (NSMT), Working Committee NA 132-02-09 AA "Kompensatoren" ("Expansion joints").
