DIN EN ISO 24490
Cryogenic vessels - Pumps for cryogenic service (ISO 24490:2016); German version EN ISO 24490:2016

Title (German)

Kryo-Behälter - Pumpen für den Kryo-Betrieb (ISO 24490:2016); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 24490:2016

Overview

This International Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the design, manufacture and testing of pumps for cryogenic service. This document is applicable to centrifugal pumps. However, it can be applied to other types of cryogenic pumps (for example reciprocating pumps), where applicable. This International Standard also gives guidance on the design of installations (see Annex A). This International Standard does not specify requirements for operation or maintenance. It is planned that DIN EN ISO 24490 will replace the existing cryogenic pump standard DIN EN 13275:2000-11. This standard differs from the predecessor standard in that the hydraulic test pressure in particular has been reduced. The document builds on existing general pump standards (for example DIN EN 809) and places additional requirements on cryogenic operation. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 016-00-05 AA "Kryo-Behälter; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 268 und ISO/TC 220" ("Cryogenic vessels; National mirror committee to CEN/TC 268 and ISO/TC 220") at DIN.
