DIN ISO 3903
Ships and marine technology - Ships' ordinary rectangular windows (ISO 3903:2012)

Title (German)

Schiffe und Meerestechnik - Rechteckige Schiffsfenster (ISO 3903:2012)

Overview

This International Standard specifies the classification of rectangular windows for ships (series, types and models), and gives the dimensions for interchangeability and construction, materials, tests, marking and designation of these rectangular windows. The document is the national adoption of ISO 3903:2012-07. This International Standard is based on the experience of ships' window and glass manufacturers, shipbuilders and authorities who apply to ships the Regulations of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 (SOLAS 1974), as amended, and of the International Convention of Load Lines, 1966, as amended. It is planned to refer to the national adoption of the ISO standard in an update of the Regulation on Safety of Ships in Inland Navigation (BinSchUO). The committee responsible for this national standard is NA 132-01-03 AA "Fenster" ("Windows") at DIN.
