Overview

An adaptation of DIN EN 62489-2 has become necessary: a) by the revision of the ICNIRP Guide in the 2010 edition; b) by the amendment of the physical quantity on which restrictions are established, from tissue current density to induced electric field; c) by changes of reference levels; d) by simplification of the application of the guidelines. DIN EN 62489-2 is a state-of-the-art which shall be observed for the audio-frequency induction loop system. The responsible committee is Joint Subcommittee DKE/GUK 821.6 "Hörgeräte und audiometrische Messtechnik" ("Hearing aids and audiometric measurements") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
