Overview

ATV DIN 18300 "Earthworks" has been technically revised by the German Committee for construction contract procedures (DVA). It is applicable for the loosening, loading, conveyance, placing and compaction of soil and rock. All of the main services and supplementary work previously defined in Clause 3 which fall within the scope of DIN 18320 "Landscape works" (topsoil and uprooting work), DIN 18306 "Underground drainage", DIN 18307 "Laying of pressure pipework outside buildings" and embedment work in DIN 18322 "Underground cable laying work" have been deleted in this standard. These services have now been incorporated into the corresponding standards. Thus only pure "earthwork services" are now covered by DIN 18300. In all civil engineering standards of the VOB/C with a reference to the subsoil, homogeneous zones now replace the previously valid classification of soil and rock classes. In addition, Clause 5 "Settlement of accounts" has been restructured.
