Power transformers - Part 1: General; Supplement 1: Voltage level exceeding the highest voltage for equipment Uₘ

Title (German)

Leistungstransformatoren - Teil 1: Allgemeines; Beiblatt 1: Spannungspegel oberhalb der höchsten Spannung für Betriebsmittel Uₘ

Overview

DIN EN 60076-1 (VDE 0532-76-1):2012-03 is the current German version of IEC 60076-1:2011. It applies to power transformers with two or more windings which convert one system of alternating voltage and current into another for the purpose of transmitting electrical energy by means of electromagnetic induction. It applies to three-phase and single-phase transformers with the exception of various categories of small and special transformers. Since a new edition of this standard is not expected before 2017, the national committee K 321 responsible for this standard has decided to publish this supplementary sheet in order to draw the attention of users to a special operating condition of power transformers, which has not yet been taken into account by the standard, even before the next revision of IEC 60076-1. It is about the occurrence of voltage levels at the terminals of a transformer, which for a short time can exceed the value of the highest voltage for equipment Um. The responsible committee is DKE/K 321 "Transformatoren" ("Transformers") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
