Construction of concrete hot cells - Part 4: Requirements of shielding windows for concrete walls density 2,3 g/cm³ with different thicknesses

Title (German)

Errichtung von Heißen Zellen aus Beton - Teil 4: Anforderungen an Strahlenschutzfenster für Betonwände der Dichte 2,3 g/cm³ unterschiedlicher Dicke

Overview

This document specifies the requirements for design and production, in particular, regarding main dimensions, viewing quality, shielding effect and radiation resistance. This document applies to shielding windows for the protection of concrete shielding walls from ionizing radiation. It specifies a series of shielding window types for walls having a concrete density of 2,3 g/cm3 and different wall thicknesses. This standard covers five types of shielding windows with an area coverage (product of density and wall thickness) corresponding to concrete walls having a thickness d of 800 mm, 1 000 mm, 1 200 mm, 1 400 mm and 1 500 mm. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-07-62 AA "Strahlenschutzeinrichtungen" ("Radiation protection") at DIN.
