Overview

This VG standard applies to lines used on vessels for replenishment procedures. Dimensions, types, materials and a corresponding parts list are provided for distance line type A, high line type H, three-step line type S and fibre rope lines with thimble forms F and F2K. Type tests are prescribed for A, H, S, F and F2K type lines in accordance with VG 85493. The properties of the material used shall be confirmed by the manufacturer in the form of an inspection certificate according to DIN EN 10204. With respect to VG 85492:1993-12, the Clauses "Type test" and figures were revised. Furthermore, the English version was added. This standard has been prepared by the DIN Shipbuilding and Marine Technology Standards Committee (NSMT), Technical Committee NA 132-01-05 AA "Heben, Schleppen, Ankern" ("Heaving, towing, anchoring").
