Overview

This standard specifies the competencies required of a scuba diver in order to obtain a scuba diver qualification from a training organization attesting that he/she has met or exceeded scuba diver level 3 ("Dive leader"), and specifies evaluation criteria for these competencies. This standard also specifies the conditions under which training is provided, in addition to the general requirements for recreational diving service provision in accordance with ISO 24803. This International Standard applies to training and evaluation of recreational scuba divers. In particular, this service standard deals with quality issues. It is prepared according to the methodologies of the Vienna Agreement in parallel at international and European level. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 159-02-01 AA "Tourismus-Dienstleistungen" ("Tourism services") at DIN.
