Overview

The standardization project forms part of the Smarts Watt project, subproject Smart Architecture (grant: 01ME08015); it is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and supervised by project sponsor Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) (German Aerospace Center). A safety concept is necessary containing aspects of confidentiality, integrity and authenticity since critical data traffic flows from Smart Architecture. The known safety standards are used both for encoding and for signing messages. However, an extension taking into account the electricity market and allowing an appropriate identity check is necessary for the Security Tokens. The focus is on the approval of the various information objects relevant for energy management and on the procedures of the various parties. Existing procedures and their extension capabilities form the basis for this task. The objective of this DIN SPEC is a specific Security Token for energy management.
