Replenishment at sea - Stern-bow-method - Overview; Text in German and English

Title (German)

Versorgung in See - Heck-Bug-Verfahren - Übersicht; Text Deutsch und Englisch

Overview

VG 85488 "Replenishment at sea - Stern bow method - Overview" documents the stern-bow replenishment method (SB-method) which is used on vessels for the transfer/handover of liquids in DN 65 or DN 150 hoses. Supplying vessels equipped with a hose winch are excluded. The VG standard does not only describe the possible method variations but states the composition of the component and equipment parts for supplying and receiving vessels in several tables. However, it shall be taken into account that the component parts permanently attached to the vessel are dimensioned and arranged according to the building specification of the vessel. Many component and equipment parts are not only applied for the replenishment method according to this standard but also for other replenishment methods. Parts lists according to this standard cannot be used for specification of the scope of supply. The equipment is defined in the Anlagenblatt, Ausstattungsanweisung der Bundeswehr (AnLBAAINBw) (Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr) (BAAInBW) (Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support). The committee responsible for this VG standard is Working Committee NA 132-01-05 AA "Heben, Schleppen, Ankern" ("Heaving, towing, anchoring") of NSMT at DIN.
