Pressure pipelines made from thermoplastics materials - Metal and plastics compression fittings for polyethylene (PE) pipes - General quality requirements and testing; Text in German and English

Title (German)

Druckrohrleitungen aus thermoplastischen Kunststoffen - Klemmverbinder aus Metallen und Kunststoffen für Rohre aus Polyethylen (PE) - Allgemeine Güteanforderungen und Prüfung; Text Deutsch und Englisch

Overview

This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for mechanical fittings intended to join PE pipes of outside diameters of up to 110 mm for piping systems at operating temperature ≤ 40 °C, where the operating pressure of the fittings corresponds at least to the nominal pressure (PN) of the piping system components (for example 6 bar, 10 bar or 16 bar). It is directed at manufacturers, test facilities and users of fittings for PE pipes. This document is intended to provide the user with a basic standard with the general requirements both for the materials to be used as well as the fitting itself and the tests to be applied. The standard contains in particular quality aspects. The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 054-05-03 AA "Fittings für Druckrohre aus Thermoplasten" ("Fittings for pressure pipelines made of thermoplastic materials") at the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK).
