This standard has been prepared by the Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices (FWS), Working Committee NA 121-01-12 AA "Dreh- und Bohrwerkzeuge mit Wendeschneidplatten aus harten Schneidstoffen" ("Turning- and drilling tools with indexable inserts made of hard cutting materials") and specifies the designation of standardized tool holders for external and internal turning with hollow taper shank for indexable inserts of carbide, ceramic inserts and other cutting materials.
