Overview
This standard applies to products for the creation of electronic signatures. This standard focuses particularly on aspects of security. This standard specifies a protection profile for secure signature creation devices. It establishes secure electronic data transfer by creating secure signatures and thus ensuring secure online banking. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was Working Committee NA 043-01-17-04 UA "Austauschprotokolle bei Chip-Karten" ("Exchange protocols for integrated circuit cards") at DIN.
