Testing of petroleum products - Determination of the electrical conductivity - Part 2: Field method

Title (German)

Prüfung von Mineralölerzeugnissen - Bestimmung der elektrischen Leitfähigkeit - Teil 2: Feldverfahren

Overview

This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-06-42 AA "Prüfung von flüssigen Kraftstoffen und Heizölen" ("Testing of liquid fuels and fuel oils") of the Petroleum, Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products Standardization Committee (FAM) of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP) at DIN. This standard specifies a test method for determination of electrical conductivity of petroleum products and other organic fluids. Petroleum products and other organic fluids can become electrostatically charged, during filling procedures, amongst others, so that the ignition of an existing mixture capable of ignition can be caused. Knowledge of electrical conductivity is necessary in order to assess the possible resulting hazardous situations.
