Testing of carbonaceous materials - Determination of content of dedusting substances in cokes by extraction - Solid materials

Title (German)

Prüfung von Kohlenstoffmaterialien - Bestimmung des Gehaltes an staubbindenden Stoffen in Koksen durch Extraktion - Feststoffe

Overview

The method according to this document serves for the determination of the content of extractable dedusting substances in cokes. In order to avoid dust formation, cokes are sprayed with dedusting substances. The mass fraction of dedusting substances is determined by extraction with a suitable solvent. A coke sample dried in accordance with this method can be used for other determination methods once dried. Cokes can also contain dedusting substances which cannot be extracted with a solvent. It is also possible to determine the content of dedusting substances by backweighing the extracted coke in the extraction thimble when the same results are achieved with this test method. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-02-81 AA "Prüfverfahren für Kohlenstoff und Graphit" ("Testing of carbonaceous materials") at DIN.
