Overview

This standard contains a glossary of terms and key words concerning engineering services. This standard specifies terms concerning engineering services as they are usually provided in construction of buildings, infrastructure and industrial facilities. Common understanding and the application of terms for engineering services shall contribute to free competition at a level playing field in the European Community. Although these stages can differ from country to country and the aim of this standard is not to harmonize these stages, it is important for cross border trade to provide all parties concerned to have a common view on the structure and the associated activities of engineering services. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 159-01-12 GA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitausschuss NADL/NABau: Dienstleistungen im Ingenieurwesen" ("Joint Working Committee NADL/NABau: Engineering services") at DIN.
