Overview
This document constitutes a dimensional standard in which the connecting dimensions on the machine side for reception of hollow taper shanks for the machine/tool interface intended for the application of an automatic or manual tool change on machine tools (for instance, turning machines, boring machines, milling machines and turning/milling centres) are specified. The interface can be applied both for individual production as well as series production with larger quantities on manually- or automatically-controlled machine tools. For this type the torque transmission takes place frictionally over the taper only. Due to the normative specification, exchangeability amongst different manufacturers at consistent quality is ensured as well. With respect to the edition DIN 69063-5:2006-11, the HSK-E size 20 shall be incorporated in Table 1 and in Table A.1 an informative clamping force value for HSK-E size 20 shall be added.
