Overview

This standard applies to chairs in the living area which are not fixed to the floor. It does not apply for children's high chairs, folding chairs and chairs for external use. This standard specifies functional dimensions as well as requirements for the performance characteristics and test methods. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-05 FBR "Fachbereichsrat Möbel" ("Council of the Technical Section furniture") at DIN.
