Overview

The standard series DIN 58141 specifies test methods for fibre optic elements.
The standard DIN 58141-8 is applicable for testing of fibre optic components and products for image and data transmission (distances up to 100 m) as well as for conduction of light and optical radiation from the near infrared and ultraviolet spectral range. It is not applicable for fibre optic components and products intended for telecommunications and data transmission over distances more than 100 m. The purpose of this standard is the specification of a uniform method for determination of mechanical bending radius for short-term applications of light guide cables.
This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 027-01-16 AA "Faseroptik" ("Fibre optics") of NAFuO.
