Overview

This standard DIN 212-2 applies to machine reamers with stepped shanks made of high speed steel for conventional chucks. By incorporating NC-reamers into the DIN 212 standard series, the Types C, D, E are changed into the Types A, B, C, analogous to DIN 212-1 and DIN 212-3 (new) and other reamer standards, for example, DIN 208, DIN 219. This standard has been prepared by the Tools and Clamping Devices Standards Committee (FWS), Working Committee NA 121-01-03 AA "Senker, Aufbohrer und Reibahlen aus Schnellarbeitsstahl und Schneiden aus Hartmetall" ("Counterbores, core drills and reamers made of high speed steel and hardmetal cutting edges").
