Overview

Synthetics which are used in German underground mines shall meet particular safety requirements. The standard contains requirements and test methods for fire protection, explosion prevention (electrostatics) and hygienic properties of spiral air ducts. Spiral air ducts in accordance with DIN 21605 are flexible plastic ventilation ducts which are equipped on the outside with a continuous spring-steel wire spiral, for holding open the cross-section, and which are used for exhaust and forced ventilation. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 008-07-05 AA "Kunststoffe" ("Synthetics") of FABERG.
