Testing of mineral oils and fuels - Determination of sulfur content (total sulfur) - Part 10: Direct determination with optical emission spectral analysis with inductively coupled plasma (ICP OES)

Title (German)

Prüfung von Mineralölen und Brennstoffen - Bestimmung des Schwefelgehaltes (Gesamtschwefel) - Teil 10: Direkte Bestimmung durch optische Emissionsspektralanalyse mit induktiv gekoppeltem Plasma (ICP OES)

Overview

This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-06-11 AA "Atomspektrometrie" ("Atomic spectrometry") of the Petroleum, Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products Standardization Committee (FAM) at the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP). This standard applies to mineral oils, synthetic oils and corresponding additives containing sulphur in a range from 0.01 % (m/m) to 1 % (m/m) in oil-soluble form. The method according to the standard is also applicable to oils or corresponding additives, the sulphur content of which is over 1 % m/m if it is diluted with white oil or sulphur-free base oil to the aforementioned mass fraction range. The method according to this standard is intended for the determination of sulphur content in lubricants and fuels.
