Overview

This standard specifies basic rules for the design of graphical symbols for use in the technical documentation of products taking into account basic application needs. This standard ISO 81714-1:2010 has been prepared by Technical Committees ISO/TC 10 SC 10 "Process plant documentation and tpd-symbols" and IEC/TC 3 "Information structures, documentation and graphical symbols" and has been adopted by European Committee CEN/SS F16 "Graphical symbols" the secretariat of which is held by CEN, the European Committee for Standardization. The responsible German Committee is Working Committee NA 012-00-03 AA "Dokumentation für Prozessanlagen" ("Documentation of process plants") of Chemical Apparatus Standards Committee (FNCA).
