Overview

This test standard on rubber hoses and hose assemblies for use with steam describes test methods in which the test piece which has been cut from a rubber hose or hose assembly is exposed to saturated steam, thus simulating service conditions. Four methods are specified: method A: vertical rack method method B: horizontal rack method method C: flexing test, vertical arrangement method D: flexing test, horizontal arrangement. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 "Rubber and rubber products" (secretariat: DSM, Malaysia), SC 1 "Hoses" (secretariat: DSM, Malaysia) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted by Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 "Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies". The responsible national Standards Committee is NA 045-02-12 AA "Schläuche" ("Hoses") of the Rubber Technology Standards Committee (FAKAU).
