AI & Standards in Financial Sector

Online event on 04/18/2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

AI applications in the financial sector are very diverse. There are simple customer service applications, automation and controls of standard processes, and very complex modeling tasks for core processes such as credit scoring, fraud detection, and investment decisions.

While there is already extensive regulation in the financial sector. However, concrete & complex modeling aspects are difficult to map in technology-neutral regulation. Standardization offers the opportunity to address concrete uncertainties here and to proactively propose solutions.

Particularly against the backdrop of the AI Act, in which credit scoring systems are likely to be classified as high-risk, standardization is of special importance. This is because the technical concretization of the requirements is to be regulated in norms and standards.

The first initiatives on AI and finance have already been launched on the international standardization stage. To ensure that Germany does not lose its claim to leadership in the field of secure and trustworthy AI, it is important to counter these initiatives with a German position.

We want to lay the foundation for this in the workshop "AI and standardization in the financial sector" on 18.04.2023 from 10 am to 12:30 pm (online), to which all interested parties are cordially invited.
