Overview

This document is a generic standard for the field of round steel link chains and their equipment. It exclusively contains terminological specifications. Compared with DIN 685-1, this standard specifies additional terms for application of the standards published by the NRK on round steel link chains and their equipment. It is intended to incorporate the contents of this standard into a version of DIN 685-1 during its revision. The terms currently listed in the standards DIN 5698-1 and DIN 82056 are given as synonyms in clause 2. After the publication of the terminology standard, double listing in DIN 5698-1 and DIN 82056 can be omitted by giving normative reference. This standard has been prepared by NA 085-00-01 AA "Grundnormen für Rundstahlketten und Zubehör" ("Basic standards for round steel link chains, components and accessories") of the Round Steel Link Chains Standards Committee (NRK) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e.
