DIN Standards Committee Aerospace

Overview

This document specifies the performance requirements for aluminium pigmented organic coatings to be applied on titanium, titanium alloys, nickel or cobalt based alloys and corrosion resistant steels. This specification does not cover electrical bonding and lightning strike applications of these coatings. Additional qualification tests will be agreed with the OEM upon qualification. These coatings are not recommended for use on non-corrosion resistant steel fasteners. The standard 4473 has been prepared by the standardization organization ASD-STAN of the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) with the participation of German experts at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-03-01 AA "Verbindungselemente" ("Aerospace fasteners") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
