Overview
The EN 4830 series of standards describe modular, optical, rectangular connectors for EN 4639-10X optical contacts and operating temperatures of 125 °C. This family of optical connectors is derived from EN 4165-001. They are suitable for use in on-board aerospace applications and allow easy access for cleaning the end surfaces of the optical contacts. Part 004 specifies the requirements and dimensions of the tool for removing the modules used in the rectangular connectors. The standards of the EN 4830 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-10 AA "LWL und LWL-Komponenten" ("Fibre optic cables and components") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
