Title (German)

Luft- und Raumfahrt - Elektrische Rundsteckverbinder, kontaktgeschützt, dreigängige Gewinde-Schnellkupplung, Betriebstemperatur 175 °C oder 200 °C konstant - Teil 001: Technische Lieferbedingungen; Deutsche und Englische Fassung EN 3645-001:2013

Overview

The DIN EN 3645 standard series describes the characteristics of electrical circular connectors, scoop-proof, triple start threaded coupling and to be used at operating temperatures up to 175 °C or 200 °C continuous. The connectors of this connector family are derived from those of MIL-DTL-38999 series III the components of which they are intermateable and interchangeable. It is particularly suitable for use in zones of severe environmental conditions on board aircraft, applying EN 2282. The new edition of Part 001 specifies the general characteristics, the conditions for qualification, acceptance and quality assurance, as well as the test programs and groups for these circular connectors according to the classes. The following changes have been made with respect to the previous edition: a) the normative references have been revised; b) in 4.1, the used contacts have been extended by size 8 crimp contacts and size 8 quadrax crimp contacts; c) the document has been editorially revised, this resulted in additional clauses and modifications in the previous numbering of the clauses; d) in 4.4, the requirement for a decoupling protection has been added; e) according to 5.1, hermetic receptacles do not require blue colour band, f) in 5.2, the previous first paragraph on the material to be used has been deleted; g) Figure2 in 6.3 has been revised and the detail has been changed; h) in Figure 5 in 6.5.2 the applicability for contact arrangement 19N17 has been deleted; i) in 6.6, additional identification letters for contact arrangements have been added: Q (for grounded quadrax contacts), L (for non-grounded quadrax contacts); R (for power contacts) and K (for fluids), a figure for the depth of size 8 quadrax contacts has been added; additional figures with contact arrangements (in particular quadrax contacts) have been added, all numberings of the figures has changed accordingly, the figures have been supplemented by tables indicating the positions of the contacts; j) in Table 10 in 7.1 the following modifications have been made for the following tests: EN 2591-205, -213, -307, -315, -325, -404 and -421, tests EN 2591-217 to -220 have been deleted, test EN 2591-227 has been added; k) Table 12 "Resistance to fluids" has been revised and refers to EN 3909, Table 13 "Resistance to fuels" has been added, following numbering of the tables has been changed accordingly; l) the qualification test programmes in 8.2.4, Table 18 have been supplemented by groups 13, 14 and 15. The EN 3645 standard series has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 1986-10-03. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
