DIN EN 9104-003
Aerospace series - Quality management systems - Part 003: Requirements for Aerospace Quality Management System (AQMS) Auditor Training and Qualification; German and English version EN 9104-003:2010

Title (German)

Luft- und Raumfahrt - Qualitätsmanagementsysteme - Teil 003: Anforderungen an Schulung und Qualifikation von Auditoren für Qualitätsmanagementsysteme der Luft- und Raumfahrt (AQMS); Deutsche und Englische Fassung EN 9104-003:2010

Overview

The standard DIN EN 9104-003 contains the minimum requirements of the body of knowledge for auditors of the Aerospace Quality Management Systems (AQMS) who will participate in AQMS certification/registration activities including auditor authentication processes, and for training organizations. It is applicable to auditors seeking formal approval to conduct audits of the AQMS systems under the IAQG and those who manage the competency element of an AQMS audit program, and to training organizations. This document is written to define a common process for aerospace auditor training and authentification to be utilized by all the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) sectors. The IAQG, the International Aerospace Quality Group, developed together wit IAQG 9104 a truly global scheme for the use of assessment results performed by Certification/Registration Bodies (CRBs), based on the 9100-series standards and taking into account the schemes already in use or under development in the various IAQG sectors. Confidence and reliance in the audit process depend on the competence of those conducting the audit, making certification/registration decisions and supporting an audit program. Competence is based on the demonstration of personal attributes, and the ability to apply Aerospace Quality Management System (AQMS) knowledge and skills gained through education, work experience, auditor training and audit experience. This document supplements the existing international requirements for the accreditation of personnel certification bodies, accreditation of CRBs and auditor certification programs. The document supersedes EN 9104-003:2009. The main reason for the new edition was the necessity to refer again to the current EN ISO 9001 and EN 9100 based on it. The standard now refers generally to the most recent and current editions of EN 9100, EN 9120, EN ISO 9000 and EN ISO 9001. Furthermore, additional experience in repair and maintenance or special training is now required from the aerospace experience auditor. The IAQG has been established by companies in the Americas, Asia/Pacific and Europe, to implement initiatives that make significant improvements in quality and reductions in cost throughout the value stream. This standard has been prepared by the IAQG and has been published by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Quality, for the IAQG sector Europe. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-05-01 AA "Grundlagen der Managementverfahren" ("Basic principles of management processes") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
