This document was prepared by NA 005-01-38 GA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss NABau/NHRS, Radongeschütztes Bauen" ("Joint working committee NABau/NHRS: Radon-resistant construction") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau). This document contains a detailed description and evaluation of measures for radon-protected construction. The fundamentals and an overview of measures for radon-protected construction are contained in DIN/TS 18117-1. The measures specified in this document: comprise structural and ventilation measures; distinguish between new buildings and buildings undergoing renovation; take into account the use of the interior spaces. This document is only applicable to buildings with recreation rooms or workplaces. This document is generally not applicable to retroactive measures in existing buildings, unless procedures regulated in this document can be applied.
