DIN Standards Committee Water Practice

Overview

This document applies to pipes and fittings made of ductile cast iron with cement mortar linings in accordance with ISO 4179, DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598, and for cement mortar linings of steel pipes in accordance with DIN EN 10298, as well as for retrofitted cement mortar linings in existing pipelines in accordance with DVGW Worksheet W-343. In order to reliably fulfill the purpose of cement mortar lining it the cement mortars should be sufficiently resistant to the various transport media. This is achieved by using cement mortar types that are selected for the various transport media, the requirements and tests for which are specified in this document for the different fields of application. In addition, guidelines are provided for the commissioning and operation of water pipelines with cement mortar linings; see also DVGW Worksheet W 3462.
