DIN EN 14296
Sanitary appliances - Communal washing troughs; German version EN 14296:2015

Title (German)

Sanitärausstattungsgegenstände - Reihenwaschanlagen; Deutsche Fassung EN 14296:2015

Overview

The amendment of the EC Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC) to the EU Construction Products Regulation (305/2011/EU) requires certain formal changes which shall be taken into account in the harmonised product specifications. This results in consequences for the manufacturers of in-line washing systems. Row washing facilities are sanitary equipment found in factories and barracks, but also in children's and youth facilities (among other homes, schools, hostels). As a rule, this is a series of individual basins, with washing rows or wash rows as well as carried out as washing wells. They combine several washing points and have a common process for them. CEN/TC 163 "Sanitary appliances" is aware that the new requirements for manufacturers of sanitary equipment resulting from Regulation 305/2011/EU and the previously non-compliant requirements of the relevant harmonised European standards have caused significant unrest and uncertainty among market players. On the initiative of the German delegation in CEN/TC 163, the short-term amendment or revision of all these standards, including EN 14296, was initiated. The national mirror committee is NA 119-05-18-01 UA "Waschtische, Sitzwaschbecken, Klosetts, Urinale" ("Sinks, bidets, WCs, urinals") is responsible for this work.
