Characterization of solids - Sampling of solid and semi-solid materials - Part 6: In situ sampling, with CD-ROM
Abstract
his part of the DIN 19698-series shall be used for in situ sampling. An accurate description of the construction materials is essential for the planning, preparation and execution of works in e.g. linear structures, and the resulting engineering-based implementation. Is the application of a material stockpile for the purpose of sampling according to DIN 19698-1 due to constructional conditions (construction sites in urban areas, water protection areas and other sensitive areas) or logistical reasons (building process) at source not possible, the necessary investigations are carried out usually from in situ sampling and must be planned so that the information required in the different project phases of the construction project are complete and definitely. This part of DIN 19698 applies to in situ sampling of solid and semi-solid materials e.g.: - supply and disposal lines (water, gas, electricity); - track renewals; - repair or basic renewal of roads and other trafficked areas; - side strip (shoulder) innovations of roads; - investigation in case of damage (subsidence damage, landslides, subsidence damage, accident events); where a stockpiling and storage of finishing materials for the purpose of sampling for logistical reasons or legal approval is not possible.
