Packaging - Attributes - Part 1: Attributes for packaging made of corrugated fibreboard
Abstract
This document contains a list of quality characteristics that relate specifically to corrugated board packaging and are summarized and structured in characteristic groups. This document is neither a recommendation nor a requirement to be provided by the packaging manufacturer. Due to this general approach, the user of this document is confronted with the situation that only parts of an extensive list are relevant for his product. The relevance of the individual quality features must therefore be determined on a product-specific basis between the manufacturer and the user (customer) of the corrugated board packaging. The general character of the other sections remains unaffected by this. It is applicable as a general basis and aid for agreements on individual contractual terms and conditions of sale and purchase (STLB) in the entire packaging sector. The list has been compiled in a value-free and unweighted manner. It merely specifies quality characteristics that are available for the assessment of corrugated board packaging according to the current state of the art. The list contains test methods assigned to the quality characteristics that are suitable and can be used to assess the conformity of quality characteristics with the agreed specifications. This document contains elements for the creation of a classification. It does not contain any assignment of quality characteristics and defect classes. This assignment is made by agreement between the users of this document. When applying this document, the definitions for defect classes listed in section 3 are used, as these are widely used in practice. Other classifications of defect classes are possible, but require agreement.
